Chesslings is a chess learning game made for children. We designed it to be safe and private by default. This policy explains how we handle information.
Chesslings does not collect, store, or transmit any personal information. There are no user accounts, no sign-in, no email collection, no location, and no advertising identifiers. We do not show ads and we do not use third-party analytics or tracking of any kind.
Your child's game progress (levels, stars, gems, and settings) is saved only on the device, in local app storage. It never leaves the device and is not sent to us or anyone else. You can erase it at any time from Settings → Grown-ups → Delete progress.
Chesslings is directed to children and is built to comply with the U.S. Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and the EU GDPR protections for children. Because we collect no personal information, there is nothing to share, sell, or use for advertising or profiling.
Optional purchases and subscriptions are processed entirely by Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play). We never see or receive payment card details. A parental gate (a simple math question) is shown before any purchase. You can manage or cancel subscriptions in your App Store or Google Play account.
If a grown-up turns on optional streak reminders, the app schedules a gentle local notification on the device. These are local only — no data is sent to a server, and you can turn them off anytime in Settings.
We do not integrate any third-party SDK that collects data. The app functions fully offline.
If this policy changes, we will update this page and the "Last updated" date above.
